The Music of the Kyrie, a Liturgy After Hours Event

The third event in our series, “Liturgy After Hours”. We will explore the text and music of the simplest and first of the sung prayers of the Mass, the Kyrie. Known in English as “Lord Have Mercy,” this prayer’s simplicity has lent itself to some of the deepest musical meditations in the Church’s repertoire. Through guided attention to the text and music, we will ask, “What is it?”, “How to sing it?”, and “How to pray it?”
